Where Is Polymarket Available? Country List (2026)
Polymarket’s international site, polymarket.com, lets people in most countries trade, but it blocks new positions in a list of countries. That list includes the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Russia, Australia, Brazil and four Canadian provinces (Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec). US residents use the separate Polymarket US app, which is regulated by the CFTC.

Polymarket US is a separate app, regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). It requires identity verification (KYC). polymarket.com does not accept new positions from the US, so the button on this page changes for US visitors and opens Polymarket US instead.
What about VPNs?
Using a VPN to get around these restrictions breaks Polymarket’s terms. Accounts can be closed and rewards withheld. WhaleSays does not recommend it. If you are not sure whether you can use Polymarket, check the lists above before you sign up.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Polymarket legal in my country?
- It depends on where you live. Polymarket's own restrictions and national regulators decide who can open new positions, and both can change. Check the lists on this page, then read the rules that apply to you. WhaleSays does not give legal advice.
- Can I use Polymarket from the United States?
- Not on polymarket.com, which does not accept new positions from the US. US residents can use Polymarket US, a separate app regulated by the CFTC that requires identity verification (KYC).
- What does close-only mean?
- In a close-only country you can close positions you already hold, but you cannot open new ones.
- How often is this list updated?
- We update the list by hand. The date at the top of this page shows when we last checked it, and rules can change between checks, so confirm with Polymarket before you rely on it.
