All 30 outcomes and their odds

Probability is the share price. Decimal odds show what $1 returns if that outcome wins, before fees. American odds show the same price as a moneyline: +150 pays $150 on a $100 stake, −200 needs $200 to win $100.

Long shots that pay the most

The 3 outcomes priced between 2¢ and 15¢ that would pay the most for a $20 stake. Long shots rarely win, and the price already says how rarely: 5¢ is a market-implied chance of about 5%. Most stakes at these prices end up lost.

How this market resolves

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed team is determined as the champion of the NBA for the 2026-27 season. Otherwise, it will resolve to "No".

If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed team to be named as the champion of NBA for the 2026-27 season per the rules of NBA (e.g., participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No".

If multiple teams are declared winners, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.

If this event is cancelled, postponed after June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a champion has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".

The resolution source will be official information from the NBA: however a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Rules are written by Polymarket and shown as published. WhaleSays does not settle markets.

What this market asks

Which team will be crowned NBA champion at the end of the 2026-27 season? Each team has a Yes/No market, and the price is the market's implied probability that it wins the championship. A 15-cent share means roughly a 15% chance. Every team can be listed, so the tail is long, and prices rise across the field as weaker teams are eliminated.

How it resolves and key dates

A team's market resolves to Yes if it is determined as NBA champion for the 2026-27 season, and to No as soon as it is impossible for it to win, for example once it is eliminated. If the event is cancelled, or postponed after June 30, 2027 (11:59 PM ET) with no champion declared, the market resolves to Other. The resolution source is official NBA information.

The 2026-27 regular season runs from October 20, 2026 to April 11, 2027. The Play-In Tournament starts on April 13 and the playoffs on April 17, 2027. The NBA Finals are normally played in June; the league had not published the 2027 Finals dates when this page was written.

What moves these odds

Health is the biggest swing factor. An injury to a star player, or the news that one will return for the playoffs, can move a team's price more than a week of results. After that come the standings: a top seed gets home-court advantage and an easier path, and the bracket decides which contenders meet before the Finals.

Early in the season, prices lean on last year's results, off-season trades and free-agent signings. The trade deadline, in-season injuries and the strength of each conference then reshape the field. During the playoffs, each series result moves the survivors sharply.

How to back a pick

On Polymarket you buy shares of the team you pick. Each share pays $1 if that team wins the title and nothing if it does not, so a share bought at 25 cents turns $20 into $80 if the pick wins (before any fees) and into $0 if it does not. Prices move with injuries and results, you can sell before the Finals, and you can lose your whole stake. This is information, not financial advice.

Common questions

When do the 2027 NBA Finals start?

How does Polymarket decide the NBA championship market?
A team's market resolves to Yes if it is determined as NBA champion for the 2026-27 season, using official NBA information. A team's market resolves to No once it is impossible for it to win. If no champion is declared by June 30, 2027 (11:59 PM ET), it resolves to Other.

Sixteen teams play in the playoffs, eight from each conference. The top six seeds in each conference qualify directly, and seeds seven to ten compete in the Play-In Tournament for the last two places.
