By WhaleSays Editorial · Facts checked · 8 min read
Polymarket has not announced an airdrop or a token. Its CMO said in October 2025 that a token and an airdrop are coming, but the company's Help Center still says no airdrop or token generation event has been announced, and there are no eligibility rules, snapshot or launch date. Traders on predict.fun price an official token launch at 2% by December 31, 2026 and 17% by June 30, 2027.

How to read these odds
- The market resolves Yes only if Polymarket launches an official token that is publicly transferable and tradable by 11:59 PM ET on the deadline. An announcement or a claim-only token does not count, so these odds are about a live token, not about an airdrop being announced.
- Prices are rounded to whole cents by the source, and a few cents is a wide margin of error on a thin market. Prediction-market odds are a crowd's opinion. They can be wrong, and they are not investment advice.
- The last column is our arithmetic: how many points of probability each deadline adds over the one before it.

CEO Shayne Coplan posts a list of crypto tickers on X that ends with “$POLY” and a thinking-face emoji. Media read it as a hint. It was not an announcement.

CMO Matthew Modabber tells the Degenz Live podcast: “There will be a token, there will be an airdrop.” He says the US relaunch comes first and the token after it, and gives no date and no details on how it would work.
Polymarket’s parent company, Blockratize Inc., files US trademark applications for POLY and $POLY on an intent-to-use basis. Polymarket declined to comment. Such a filing says a company intends to use a name, not that a launch is scheduled.

Polymarket’s Help Center article “Does Polymarket have a token?” is last updated. It says Polymarket has not announced plans for any airdrop or token generation event, names pUSD as its collateral token, warns about airdrop and giveaway scams and lists the official channels.

What airdrop hunters believe matters, and what is actually known
| Topic | Where the idea comes from | What our checker shows |
|---|---|---|
| Trading volume | The Block reports speculation that a larger share could go to the most active traders (Oct 2025). | All-time volume from the leaderboard, in shares. |
| Number of different markets | Using political, crypto and sports markets is listed as a hoped-for signal (CoinCodex). | Markets with an open or closed position in a recent sample. |
| Consistent activity over time | Regular trading rather than one-off bursts is the usual airdrop pattern, according to CoinCodex. It is not a Polymarket rule. | Calendar months with activity in that sample. |
| Early participation | Activity before or during the 2024 election is mentioned as a possible plus (CoinCodex). | The date the profile was created. |
What is actually known
Nothing about eligibility. Polymarket has not said whether a token would be given to users at all, how an allocation would be set, whether there will be a snapshot, whether past trading counts, or whether a token would be open to international users, US users or both (Cryptonews, Oct 14, 2026). Check the availability page for where you can open new positions today.
A word on volume farming
Decrypt reported in 2024 that some users buy and quickly sell shares to inflate their volume in the hope of a bigger reward, and that large traders it quoted called this spam that should not be rewarded. Polymarket's own referral terms treat inauthentic trading as grounds for disqualification (Referral Program). That is a referral rule, not an airdrop rule, but it shows how the company views the practice. Churning also costs taker fees (see the fees guide) and real money when prices move.

Frequently asked questions
- Is there a Polymarket airdrop?
- Not officially. Polymarket's Help Center says it has not announced plans for any airdrop or token generation event (article updated June 24, 2026). Its CMO said in October 2025 that a token and an airdrop will happen after the US launch, but no date, eligibility rules or snapshot have been published.
- What is the POLY token?
- POLY is the unofficial name people use for a possible Polymarket token. It comes from a post by CEO Shayne Coplan on X in October 2025 and from POLY and $POLY trademark filings in February 2026. Polymarket has not confirmed a ticker and no such token exists. The only Polymarket token its Help Center describes is pUSD, the dollar-backed collateral used for trading.
- When is the Polymarket token launch date?
- There is no launch date. At TOKEN2049 on October 7, 2026, Coplan discussed an on-chain asset tied to the platform's economy without giving a date or structure. On predict.fun, traders price an official token launch at 2% by December 31, 2026 and 17% by June 30, 2027 (read 19:52 UTC, 1 Nov 2026). That is a market opinion, not a schedule.
- How do I qualify for the Polymarket airdrop?
- Nobody outside Polymarket knows, because no criteria have been published. Airdrop hunters speculate that trading volume, the number of different markets traded, consistent activity over time and early participation could matter, but that is guesswork. Be wary of anyone selling a guaranteed way to qualify.
- Is there a Polymarket airdrop checker?
- Polymarket has not released one, and none can exist before eligibility rules do. Our tool only shows a wallet's public activity: profile creation date, all-time profit rank and volume, markets traded and active months. It gives no allocation estimate and cannot predict an airdrop. Treat any site that claims to check your eligibility or asks you to connect a wallet as a scam.
- How can I avoid fake Polymarket airdrop sites?
- Remember that there is nothing to claim yet. Never connect a wallet, sign a message or enter a seed phrase on a site that offers to check or claim a Polymarket airdrop. Polymarket says its announcements come only from polymarket.com, its X account and its Discord.
